Logging your contributions is what keeps your Ambassador status active and visible. Here's where that happens.

Log every contribution as you go. This is the only official record of your active status. Quarterly deadlines apply (for example, Q2 activity must be logged by July 15).
-

Built by fellow Ambassador Julissa Rodriguez. Download a personal backup copy of your own logged history. Optional, and not a replacement for your Impact Portfolio.
-
Day-30 Onboarding Survey
A short check-in about your first month of onboarding. Complete it when the WTM team invites you to, after you have had time to work through the first-month milestones.
Our 30-day ambassador check-in opens on November 2. Please return between November 2 and November 13 to share how your first month with your match went. We look forward to hearing your thoughts then.
06 · Quick answers
New Ambassador FAQ
Here are answers to common questions from the 2026 welcome sessions. Start with the Welcome Guide and checklist, and use this FAQ when you need a quick answer. For anything specific to your account or circumstances, contact wtm@technovation.org.
Getting started
What should I do first?
Make a copy of the New Ambassador Welcome Guide and the Getting Started Checklist. Read the guide, use the checklist to track your next steps, and complete the Onboarding Match Form if you have not already submitted it. You do not need to submit the same form again.
I have not received Slack, Advocu, or my onboarding documents. What should I do?
These invitations and documents are being issued separately, and some steps are handled manually. Check the inbox and spam folder for the email address you used to apply. If you need help with missing access or documents, email wtm@technovation.org and include your application email address. Do not post account details or signed documents in a public channel.
Where should I ask for help?
Use the Knowledge Hub and your peer mentor for everyday onboarding questions. Email Naomi for pairing support or Advocu technical problems, and wtm@technovation.org for missing invitations, program questions, or safety and wellbeing concerns. Keep personal information out of public channels.
Mentors and community
When will I receive my mentor or pod match?
Match details and next steps will be shared separately by email. Your onboarding support may be a one-to-one peer mentor or a small pod, with matching based on shared language, workable time-zone overlap, and available mentor capacity. If you have already submitted the Onboarding Match Form, there is no need to resubmit; the Welcome Guide explains both support options.
What if my match does not work for me?
Email Naomi if the schedule, language, communication, or pairing is not working for you. Rematching is a routine, no-fault process with no penalty, and you do not need to share sensitive personal details; see the rematching guidance in the Welcome Guide. Send safety or wellbeing concerns directly to wtm@technovation.org, rather than through your peer mentor.
How can I find other Ambassadors and introduce myself?
Once you have Slack access, introduce yourself and connect through the relevant community and regional channels. You can also use the shared Ambassador Introductions Deck: duplicate a designated template slide within that deck and edit only your own slide. Do not make a separate copy of the entire deck.
Sharing your role
Can I announce my selection now?
Yes. You may share that you have been selected as a Women Techmakers Ambassador. Please describe Women Techmakers as stewarded by Technovation and follow the WTM Brand Guidelines when creating your announcement.
How should I add the role to LinkedIn?
Add it under Volunteer experience, using "Women Techmakers Ambassador" as the role and "Women Techmakers" as the organization. Use your actual start date; for this incoming cohort, that is September 2026. You can use this short description:
"Selected for the 2026 Women Techmakers Ambassador cohort, stewarded by Technovation. I support women in technology through community activities, knowledge sharing, and peer connection."
Adapt the description to reflect your own work without implying paid employment or claiming activities you have not yet completed.
Where do I find announcement and design resources?
Start with the WTM Brand Guidelines and the existing Shared Logo Drive in Brand & assets. Use the approved assets and follow the guidance when creating your own materials. A personal copy is for reference or permitted template use; it does not change the official brand standards.
Activities and support
Do I need to attend live to complete onboarding?
Your onboarding milestones are based on completing the activities, not attending every live group session. Use the available recordings and resources if a session conflicts with your time zone, work, or other responsibilities, and arrange workable touchpoints with your peer mentor or pod; the Welcome Guide explains the asynchronous pathway.
What activities count toward active Ambassador status?
The four activity categories are Events, Public Speaking, Content Creation, and Mentorship. Complete and log at least one qualifying activity per quarter, and aim to contribute through at least two different activity types each year. The Welcome Guide explains the requirements and evidence to record for each category.
Do I have to organize an in-person event?
No. Qualifying events can be virtual, in person, or hybrid, and organizing events is only one way to contribute. Speaking, original educational content, and mentorship are also recognized categories; use the Welcome Guide to choose an activity that fits your skills, schedule, and community.
Where do I log activities, and what does the "Member" label mean?
Log your completed contributions in Advocu. The built-in "Member" label indicates membership in the community space; it does not mean you have lost your Ambassador role. For a co-organized event, each Ambassador currently needs to record their own contribution in their own account; see the reporting guidance in the Welcome Guide.
How do I request promotion for an event?
Publish the public-facing event on Luma, then submit the details through the Community Input Form at least 14 days before the event to request promotion through WTM channels. A Luma listing alone is not a promotion request. After the event, log your completed contribution in Advocu, as explained in the Welcome Guide.
Are certificates or badges issued automatically when I finish onboarding?
Milestone recognition for the 2026 cohort is still being developed. Details and timing will be shared once finalized, including recognition for milestones completed asynchronously. For now, follow the checklist and complete the check-ins when the team directs you to them; do not assume that submitting a form immediately generates a credential. This reflects the current Welcome Guide.
